THE DATES

Tickets go on sale on September 23, 2022. One winner will be drawn on October 14, 2022 at 6:00PM at the STARS Fall Festival at the National Athletic Village.

THE GRAND PRIZE

The prize is a $5,000 vacation in the form of a gift certificate. Be Our Guest Travel Company will book the winner to their choice of a theme park, cruise, or all-inclusive resort vacation! Travel can originate from anywhere. The winner does not need to be present to win. The prize cannot be redeemed for cash.

THE VISION

Watch your ticket sales grow into into money for STARS Charter School! If every student sells ONE TICKET, we will raise $3,140!
If every student sells THREE TICKETS, we will raise $19,420!
If every student sells FIVE TICKETS, we will raise $35,700!

If every student sells TEN TICKETS, we will raise $76,400!

Terms & Conditions

  • The winner does not need to be present to win.
  • In the event that the Fall Festival is canceled due to weather, the Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 21 at the National Athletic Village and the vacation raffle winner will be drawn at 6PM on that date.
  • The winner will be awarded $5,000 to use on a vacation package in the form of a gift certificate to Be Our Guest Travel Company. A vacation package includes your vacation package to one of the following destinations: Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, cruise, or an all-inclusive resort.
  • Be Our Guest Travel Company, a travel agency in Pinehurst, is sponsoring the fundraiser and the winner must book the vacation with Be Our Guest Travel Company.
  • The prize cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • Vacation costs in excess of the $5,000 gift certificate must be paid for by the winner.
  • The vacation must be booked by March 31, 2023.
  • The winner must begin travel by December 31, 2023.
  • The winner must be at least 18 years old.
  • The winner releases STARS Charter School, the STARS Charter School PTO, and Be Our Guest Travel Company, LLC from any claim or cause of action arising from participation in the raffle.

September Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

Our first school-wide Teacher Appreciation Event of the year is coming up and is scheduled for NEXT Thursday, September 15th at 8AM.

The PTO will be setting up tables in both teachers lounges so that all of our teachers will be included!

We are looking for volunteers to help with setup, bringing items (homemade or store-bought) and cleanup. If there’s a dish you’d like to bring that isn’t on the list please feel free to bring it.

PTO SPRING FUNDRAISER

Help us stuff the envelopes on Thursday March 3, 2022 on Sign Up Genius

Our Spring PTO Fundraiser is: a Raffle to win $5,000 toward a dream trip with your family through Be Our Guest Travel!
We will start selling: March 7th
All tickets turned in by: March 30th.
Drawing will be held on: March 31st live on Facebook

Tickets will be sent home with kids next week.
Tickets are $10 each / buy 5 get 1 free!!
Students must turn in ALL unused tickets and of course purchased ticket stubs by March 30th.
Kids can sell to family, friends and the general public.

We will have weekly drawings for all students who turn in at least 1 ticket for cool prizes like Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lego!

The student who sells the most tickets wins…..$250 Amazon Gift Card!
2nd and 3rd place will also win a prize!

Classes selling at least 200 tickets will win a Luau party with KONA ICE for the whole class on March 31st!

There are also incentives for school clubs that sell.

Proceeds will go toward purchasing new musical instruments for our music classes.

Our Goal is  to sell 4,500 tickets that is roughly 6 tickets per students and we can do it!

General Roles and Responsibilities of STARS PTO Board
Currently the following are simple job descriptions done by each position. These positions and expectations can be changed based on the new board. All jobs are assisted by the general PTO and Board
PRESIDENT
· Oversees meetings- Creates Agendas
· Communicates directly with the Schools Liaison (Currently Mrs. Craven) and teachers
· Reviews and presents to the board Teacher grants and other important issues
· Works with all coordinators to ensure all events, fundraisers etc. go smoothly.
VICE PRESIDENT
· Takes over in absence or per request of the President
Checks in with Coordinators and bosses to see where help is needed
SECRETARY
· Takes Notes at meetings and provides for review to the board and PTO
TREASURER
· Keeps track and communicates all monetary interactions for PTO
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
In Charge of communications between PTO and the STARS community and works with the following:
· Website Boss- Updates the website with Calendar dates, upcoming events, PTO Notes, PTO Newsletters
· Newsletter Boss – Creates & Updates monthly via MailChimp
· Social Media Boss- Facebook & Instagram Moderator, posts marketing material
· Marketing Boss: Makes flyers for events and Facebook Posts (Currently using Canva)
· Classroom Liaisons: One for each class- updates specified teacher and parents about PTO events, fundraisers etc.

Santa’s WorkShop

Only 4 weeks until Santa’s Workshop!

Week of: November 29-December 2

Pro Tip: Have the kids start doing extra chores now to earn money to purchase presents they can feel proud they worked to buy.
Many elves have been busy creating amazing items for the kids and parents to purchase.

We want to support the local economy as much as possible.

How it works

You will send in money with students. Students will have an opportunity to shop during school hours for family & friends!

Pro Tip: Have students come up with a budget and list of people they would like to shop for; write it on the envelope you send in. Items range from .50 cents- $20

Santa will be at our night Santa’s Workshop event from 5:30-6:30pm on 12/2

Parents Night

Parents will have the opportunity to come shop on 12/2 from 4-7pm
